Chapter 2/2

We move on with the second chapter of the case that we are currently carrying out.

Let us remember that this is a healthy man with a very strong training history, who needs to reach his best physical condition in a very short time.

In the case of strength training, the classical methodology establishes the volumes, intensity, breaks, etc. by default. In contrast to this, holistic training seeks to refine much more and base the variations of these parameters on the evolution of the subject (s) in the short and long term, using uncertainty as a catalyst for this process.

This non-linear mechanism produces variations in the rate of successes and failures in the execution of tasks, and is reflected in learning, which functions as a parameter of order, and is what should really mark the progression of sports planning.

In the case we are dealing with, we have opted for a cluster training, with heterogeneous blocks and incomplete rest between series, and complete rest between exercises, since what we are looking for is the improvement of muscular power. This methodology allows us to maintain high muscle power values during the series, with not decreasing the execution speed, and in addition, increasing the total volume of work. Which, in our particular case, is decisive.

Furthermore, we have carried out part of the work on unstable elements, Olympic rings to be specific, which generates uncertainty in the form of instability, which the body has to deal with. This improves the final outcome significantly.

It is important to dominate the classical methodology, as it is the key to the progress of the athlete or the person who performs physical activity, but it is also interesting to know new advanced methodologies such as holistic training, based on the theory of complex systems.
